CONNECT Player is a Windows-based media management and transfer application developed by Sony Corporation in the mid-2000s. Created primarily for the NW-A1000 and NW-A3000 Walkman models and select Network Walkman devices, it lets users import, organize, and tag music; create playlists; rip CDs; encode tracks (including ATRAC formats); and sync content to compatible players. The software also integrated with Sony’s CONNECT Music Store, enabling discovery, purchase, and download of DRM-protected tracks.
CONNECT Player offered tools for metadata editing, album artwork, and device management to streamline moving music from a PC to a Walkman device. The application has since been discontinued and is not supported on modern operating systems. After retiring the CONNECT service, Sony transitioned users to SonicStage and later tools.
If you need to manage a legacy Walkman today, consult Sony’s support resources for recommended replacement software and any available utilities to handle ATRAC-formatted libraries.
